AUDITION NOTICE

Based on the 1999 Disney Animated film with music by Phil Collins, ‘Tarzan’ swings on
to the stage. On the shores of West Africa, a baby boy is orphaned when his shipwrecked
parents become the victims of a fierce leopard. He is taken in and raised by a family of
gorillas who have recently lost their own baby to the same predator. They name him
Tarzan, and he grows up as one of the pack. However, his foster father, Kerchak remains
wary of having a human in the jungle. When an expedition of human explorers and
naturalists enter the jungle, Tarzan encounters creatures like himself for the first time.
As he learns about human life and grows increasingly enamored of Jane, a young
naturalist, Tarzan begins to realize that they are not so different. However, Tarzan and
Jane’s relationship threatens the safety of the gorillas and the couple must decide where
they truly belong.
AUDITION INFORMATION
Auditions will take place in the rehearsal studios at the Imperial Theatre on Tuesday, January
3, Wednesday, January 4, and Thursday, January 5 all starting at 6pm. (Please see
the activities of each night below) If you are interested in auditioning, please fill out the audition
form. You will be contacted no less than one day before auditions with your individual audition
time and dance call information. Auditions are open to anyone 8 years of age or older.
Please fill out the AUDITION FORM sooner than later to reserve your time slot
before they fill up!
Tues. Jan. 3
Individually Slotted Vocal Auditions in time blocks, followed by quick side reads and a
dance/movement section, that we ask you to stick around for.
Wed. Jan. 4
Individually Slotted Vocal Auditions in time blocks, followed by quick side reads and a
dance/movement section, that we ask you to stick around for.
Thurs. Jan. 5
6PM - 1 hour dance/movement call for ages 8-14 (this is for those seeking a role as an ensemble
gorilla cub and jungle creature with some skills in movement; singing abilities not necessary but
certainly help!)
7:15PM - Two 1hr blocks of adult dance/movement calls (this is for those seeking a role as an
ensemble gorilla and jungle creature with some more advanced skills in movement; singing
abilities not necessary but certainly help!)
We are accepting YouTube uploaded video audition submissions if you absolutely cannot make
any of the audition dates, though we would prefer in-person auditions if you can. Please send an

A vulnerable, fearless young man raised by apes. Terk's best friend who falls in love with Jane.
